A recovering alcoholic university professor trying to put his life back together meets the seductive new student. The girl offers him a sexual escape from reality till he realizes she could be insane.
We Belong Together, like most “That woman is usually crazy! ” films, does not necessarily make said woman an elaborate figure but more so some sort of generic replica of what you’re already familiar with. 26-year-old Tracy has just got outside of jail and enrolled with a college in Los Angeles, probably Sacramento, for reasons not known. We’re never told her main or interest, just that the lady ends up in a Mythology cup ran by a Mr. Youngsters Lewis.
Someone who just recently obtained off a sabbatical this individual took due to his existence falling apart. Yet, with your pet sober now and repairing the relationships he demolished, he feels stable and perchance happy. That’s until Tracy, jealous of the closeness Thomas has with his TA, Leslie, decides she wants your pet. Thus leading to a series of situations you can likely already imagine. Well, outside of the ending, the industry minor change from what we generally see.
Initially, I thought this was going to be like Only For 1 Night in, despite the low expectations for Draya Michele, the bar would be raised. Which, in some ways, it was. But, I must admit, I don’t understand if it was her acting and how she played down Whitfield or because of just how much Stoke plays on her elegance which leaves you enthralled. For with the way We Belong Together is photo, you come to understand how Jones was seduced.
How, despite his mind saying absolutely no, temptation, over and over, wore lower his morals and feeling of right and inappropriate until he couldn’t assist but give in. Especially contemplating he was single, likely hasn’t been with someone within months, maybe over a year, and it isn’t like the guy had any friends above his AA sponsor and his TA. Tracy (Draya Michele) trying to invite Thomas to possess sex. Especially contemplating he was single, likely has not been with someone inside months, maybe over a year, and it isn’t like the dude had any friends over and above his AA sponsor magnificent TA. But, as we enterprise into Tracy getting a little bit crazy, that is when Michele is pushing herself past just where she is as an actress.
Which isn’t to say she can’t play crazy, the way the girl eyes look in some scenes may give you pause, yet between her dialog, typically the performance, and the story?
There is a strong vibe that when this particular film was made, they should have followed the policy involving “Less is more. ” Judgments They Could Have Made Tracy’s Cause of Flipping Out Better The condition with damn near just about all films like this is make the woman crazy without adding much, if any, onus on the man. And mind you, yes Tracy did lay about quite a few things, yet there were multiple warning signs, as noted, that Thomas disregarded.
Some of which should have made it very clear, if you are going to have sex with this girl on the regular, be full-on intimate, you should come proper.
Yet, the film doesn’t really allow Tracy being someone complex and difficult. Her mental illness, as it is often used in films this way, is just a quick and easy means to make clear why she is acting the way in which she does. That and because, I guess, the d*** has been so bomb that she couldn’t allow someone to be in the way of consistent appointments.
Which seems like such lazy creating, since we see it sometimes, that it takes away from everything Michele was doing in which made this seem like a good part for her.
