A man rekindles his relationship along with his former wife, which does not sit well with an additional woman who's obsessed with him or her. A recovering alcoholic university professor trying to put his life back together meets some sort of seductive new student. She offers him a fragile escape from reality right up until he realizes she may be insane.
We Belong Together, like most “That woman is crazy! ” films, doesn’t make said woman a complicated figure but more so a generic replica of precisely what you’re already familiar with. 26-year-old Tracy has just got outside of jail and enrolled in a college in Los Angeles, maybe Sacramento, for reasons unidentified. We’re never told her significant or interest, just that the girl ends up in a Mythology glass ran by a Mr. Thomas Lewis.
Someone who just recently got off a sabbatical he took due to his life falling apart. Yet, with the dog sober now and mending the relationships he damaged, he feels stable and possibly happy. That’s until Tracy, jealous of the closeness Betty has with his TA, Leslie, decides she wants your pet. Thus leading to a series of events you can likely already guess. Well, outside of the ending, which is a minor change from what we often see.
Initially, I thought this became going to be like Only For One particular Night in, despite the reduced expectations for Draya Michele, the bar would be raised. That, in some ways, it was. However, I must admit, I don’t recognize if it was her acting and how she played down Whitfield or because of the amount Stoke plays on her attractiveness which leaves you entranced. For with the way We Belong Together is hit, you come to understand how Thomas was seduced.
How, in spite of his mind saying zero, temptation, over and over, wore straight down his morals and perception of right and inappropriate until he couldn’t aid but give in. Especially considering he was single, likely hasn’t been with someone within months, maybe over a 12 months, and it isn’t like the dude had any friends above his AA sponsor magnificent TA. Tracy (Draya Michele) trying to invite Thomas to possess sex. Initially, I thought it was going to be like Only For One particular Night in, despite the lower expectations for Draya Michele, the bar would be raised. Which usually, in some ways, it was. Still, I must admit, I don’t understand if it was her acting and how she played off of Whitfield or because of how much Stoke plays on her splendor which leaves you breathless.
For with the way We Belong Together is photo, you come to understand how Jones was seduced. How, despite his mind saying zero, temptation, over and over, wore along his morals and feeling of right and completely wrong until he couldn’t support but give in. Especially thinking about he was single, likely has not been with someone in months, maybe over a season, and it isn’t like the guy had any friends beyond his AA sponsor great TA. But, as we enterprise into Tracy getting a little bit crazy, that is when Michele is pushing herself past exactly where she is as an actress.
Which often isn’t to say she caint play crazy, the way the girl eyes look in some scenes may give you pause, but between her dialog, the particular performance, and the story?
There is a strong vibe that when this kind of film was made, they should get followed the policy of “Less is more. ” Criticism They Could Have Made Tracy’s Reason For Flipping Out Better The situation with damn near most films like this is they generate the woman crazy without getting much, if any, onus on the man. And actually, yes Tracy did rest about quite a few things, however there were multiple warning signs, because noted, that Thomas overlooked.
Some of which should have made it crystal clear, if you are going to have sex with this lady on the regular, be full-on intimate, you should come appropriate.
Yet, the film does not necessarily really allow Tracy to be someone complex and challenging. Her mental illness, currently often used in films like this, is just a quick and easy means to clarify why she is acting the way she does. That and since, I guess, the d*** was so bomb that she couldn’t allow someone to enter the way of consistent appointments.
Which seems like such lazy writing, since we see it sometimes, that it takes away from every little thing Michele was doing that made this seem like a good function for her.
